BLAZERS SELECT 11 PLAYERS IN 2017 WHL BANTAM DRAFT

Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers selected 11 players in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft in Calgary on Thursday.

The Blazers went to Saskatchewan with their first pick as they selected right shot center Josh Pillar from Warman, SK. The 5’11” forward had 18 goals and 54 points in 25 games with the Sask Valley Vipers.

In the third round, the Blazers chose goaltender Dylan Garand from Victoria, BC. He played this season with the Delta Academy. In 13 games, he went 13-0 with a 1.15 goals against average a .959 goals against average.

In total, the Blazers selected one goaltender, three defensemen and seven forwards. The Blazers selected one player from Arizona, one from Manitoba, three from Saskatchewan, two from Alberta and four from B.C.
