Week in Review:
Friday, September 28th, 2012 at Victoria Royals – 4-3 Shootout Loss
It wasn’t their best game, but the Blazers found a way to salvage a point in a 4-3 shootout loss in Victoria on Friday night. The Blazers were strong early on as Cole Ully’s two first period goals gave the Blazers an early 2-0 lead. The Royals cut into the lead in the second period with Brett Cote scoring a power play marker. The Royals took the lead in the third period on goals from Logan Nelson and Alex Gogolev only 47 seconds apart. Marek Hrbas’ point shot evened the score with 4:25 left to play in the game. Overtime solved nothing and Logan Nelson scored the lone goal of the shootout to lift the Royals to the win. Colin Smith, Dylan Willick and Cole Ully were all denied by goaltender Patrik Polivka in the shootout. Taran Kozun made his second straight start in goal and had a strong outing making 34 saves. Full Recap and Highlights.
