INGRAM AN ALL-STAR, BALCERS NOMINATED FOR WHL AWARD

Kamloops, BC – Goaltender Connor Ingram has been selected as a second team WHL Western Conference All-Star for the second season in a row and forward Rudolfs Balcers is the Western Conference Nominee for WHL Rookie of the Year (Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy).

Ingram had another outstanding season with a 26-14-2-2 record. He finished with a 2.44 goals against average and a franchise record .927 save percentage along with five shutouts.

The 19-year-old goaltender is in the top five in a lot of franchise records including 5th in games played, 3rd in shutouts, and 4th in wins. The Tampa Bay draft pick also suited up for Canada at the 2017 World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal.

Balcers led all CHL rookies with 40 goals this season, falling just short of Scottie Upshall’s franchise record of 42 goals as a rookie in the 2000-2001 season.

The Latvia native and draft pick of the San Jose Sharks was second in WHL rookie scoring and in team scoring with 77 points.
