Week in Review:

Wednesday, September 5^th, 2012 vs. Vancouver Giants – 7-4 Win

The Blazers won a wild one over the Vancouver Giants with a 7-4 victory. The first period was scoreless as Taran Kozun and Tyler Fuhr both made some great saves. The game opened up in the second period with Cole Ully, Dylan Willick and Rob Trzonkowski all scoring to give the Blazers a 3-0 lead. The Giants came back in the second half of the period scoring twice to make it 3-2, but Brendan Ranford scored a late goal to give the Blazers a 4-2 lead after two periods. The Giants tried to come back twice, but the Blazers kept their two-goal lead intact and won 7-4. Willick, Ranford and Jordan DePape each tallied for the Blazers in the third period. Willick and Ranford finished with four points each, while Taran Kozun earned the win with 23 saves. The Blazers were 0-for-4 on the power play while the Giants finished 1-for-7. Friday, September 7^th, 2012 at Vancouver Giants (Ladner) – 5-4 Win

It took until overtime, but the Blazers overcame a 4-1 third period deficit to win with 1.8 seconds left in overtime. The Blazers struggled to start the game and the Giants took advantage. Cain Franson put home a rebound from a point shot to give the Giants a 1-0 lead. The Giants extended that lead with Nathan Burns scoring on a breakaway. The Blazers got on the scoreboard with a late power play marker as 16-year-old Mitch Friesen wired a shot past goaltender Liam Liston. The Giants scored the lone goal of the second period and tallied again early in the third period as they led 4-1 in the third period. Goals by Cole Ully and Rob Trzonkowski put the Blazers down 4-3. After JC Lipon hit the post in the final two minutes, Colin Smith scored with 56 seconds left to tie the game up. The Blazers wanted this one as they were all over the Giants in overtime. They were rewarded with a late power play and Lipon scored with 1.8 seconds left in the game to lift the Blazers to victory. The Blazers were 2-for-6 on the power play while the Giants were 0-for-6. Season Ticket Pick-Up, A Sneak Peek at the Third Jersey

Season Ticket Holders will be able to pick up their packages on Friday, September 14^th prior to the Blazers final exhibition game against the Prince George Cougars. Pick-up will be between 5:00pm – 7:00pm at the Parkside Lounge in the Interior Savings Centre.         

Season Ticket Holders will receive their ticket package including a VIP discount card and a Blazers Rally Scarf.

The event will also feature an opportunity to get a sneak peek of the 2012-13 third jerseys. Coaches and players will be in attendance between 5:40pm – 6:00pm. Play-by-Play Announcer Jon Keen will ask some of the players a few questions during the event. Finally, season ticket holders will also have an opportunity to be entered into a draw to win a replica third jersey signed by the entire team. 

Anthem Singers Needed!

The Kamloops Blazers will be holding open auditions for anthem singers on Thursday, September 13^th from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at Interior Savings Centre. Registration will be at the top of Section R on the concourse.

Blazers to Participate in Terry Fox Run

The Kamloops Blazers will be participating in the Terry Fox Run this Sunday, September 16^th at Riverside Park. The entire team will be there with registration at 9:00am and the event starting at 10:00am.

Home Opener on Friday, September 21^st vs. Kelowna Rockets

The Kamloops Blazers will be raising the 2012 B.C. Division Championship Banner as they host the Kelowna Rockets on Friday, September 21^st. Single game tickets will go on sale at the Box Office on Monday, September 17^th at 9:00am.
