BLAZERS ANNOUNCE CAPTAINS FOR 2009-2010 SEASON

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have announced their leadership group for the 2009-2010 season, naming Tyler Shattock as the team’s captain. Shattock was originally a 1st round bantam draft pick in 2005 and is entering his 4th season with the hockey club. The Salmon Arm native has played 176 games for the club collecting 46 goals and 63 assists for 109 points in his career with the Blazers.  

Joining Shattock in a leadership role will be alternate captains CJ Stretch, Shayne Wiebe and Zak Stebner. Wiebe, entering his 3rd season, and Stretch, entering his 5th season, both were alternates last year. Stebner, who was acquired in a trade with Prince Albert, will wear an “A” for the first time.

Shattock will replace Scott Wasden, who graduated from the league, as the team’s captain. Head Coach Barry Smith says “Tyler was a great leader for us last year, and has come in and taken charge since training camp started. He has a great supporting cast with him to guide the team both on and off the ice.”
