BLAZERS COME UP SHORT IN 4-1 LOSS TO OIL KINGS

The Kamloops Blazers were stopped by the bars as they hit four crossbar / posts and ended up falling 4-1 to the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The Blazers scored first as Sean Strange’s shot glanced off Jackson Shepard to make it 1-0 after the first period.

The Oil Kings replied with two goals early in the second period Colton Kehler deflected a shot in to make it 1-1. Brendan Semchuk then gave the Oil Kings the lead on a play that was overturned. Kehler added another goal in the period to make it a 3-1 Oil Kings lead.

The Blazers had their chances in the third period but goaltender Josh Dechaine came up big in a 4-1 Blazer loss.

The Blazers were 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Oil Kings were 1-for-1 on the night. Dylan Ferguson took the loss with 19 saves and Dechaine had the win with 29 saves.
