FRANKLIN SCORES TWICE IN 5-3 LOSS TO WINTERHAWKS

Zane Franklin scored twice, but the Blazers gave up two goals early in the third period to fall 5-3 on home ice to the Portland Winterhawks.

The Blazers came back from a 2-0 deficit to lead 3-2 after two periods. The Winterhawks scored two goals 1:36 into the third period to make it 4-3 and added an empty net goal to make it a 5-3 final.

Nolan Kneen had two assists in the loss, while Connor Zary tallied his first goal of the season.

Dylan Ferguson took the loss in goal with 25 saves, while Shane Farkas had the win for the Winterhawks with 22 stops.

The Blazers were 1-for-7 on the power play, while the Winterhawks finished 2-for-6.

The Blazers are home again on Saturday night as they host the Victoria Royals. Game time is 7:00pm at the Sandman Centre.
