The Blazers had a good night on the power play as they scored three times in a 3-1 victory over the Victoria Royals.
Collin Shirley scored the game’s first goal on the power play. He tipped a shot from Joe Gatenby to give the Blazers a 1-0 lead after the first period.
The Royals tied the game early in the second period. Eric Florchuk finished a nice play from Carter Folk to make it 1-1.
The Blazers responded with a goal late in the period. Deven Sideroff’s shot found its way through a mess of bodies for his 31st goal of the season.
The Blazers were solid in the third period and added a late power play goal from Rudolfs Balcers to make it a 3-1 final.
The Royals outshot the Blazers 37-36 in the game. The Blazers were 3-for-7 on the night on the power play, while the Royals finished 0-for-6.
The Blazers improved to 34-18-2-4 on the season and sit second in the B.C. Division with 74 points.
