Rudolfs Balcers scored his 40th goal of the season with 5.1 seconds left to lift the Blazers to a 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night on home ice.

The Blazers trailed 1-0 after the first period as Calvin Spencer scored at the end of a power play with three seconds left in the period.

The second period did not get much better for the Blazers. Jack Flaman and Bartek Bison both scored for the Giants to open up a 3-0 lead only three and a half minutes into the second.

Deven Sideroff gave the Blazers some life as he scored his 36th of the season and the Blazers trailed 3-1 through two periods.

The Blazers came to life early in the third period. Quinn Benjafield scored on a great feed from Garrett Pilon a minute into the period to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Rudolfs Balcers tied the game up 27 seconds later finishing off a pass from Lane Bauer to make it a 3-3 hockey game.

Dylan Ferguson came up big for the Blazers in the latter half of the game. He made some key saves down the stretch to keep it 3-3.

The game looked like it was going to overtime until Bauer set up Balcers for his 40th goal of the season with 5.1 seconds left to give the Blazers a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Giants.

The win improves the Blazers record to 41-23-2-4 on the season.

The Blazers will have the week off before playing host to their final regular season game against the Prince George Cougars on Friday, March 17th.
