Jermaine Loewen scored the game winning goal with 28.7 seconds left to lift the Blazers to a 4-3 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday night at home.
The Thunderbirds scored first, but the Blazers came back with a vengeance. Garrett Pilon tied the game on the power play, then Carson Denomie gave the Blazers the lead with his second of the season. Ondrej Vala rounded out the scoring in the first period with his seventh of the season for a 3-1 Blazers lead.
Tyler Carpendale gave the Thunderbirds some life as he converted on a nice pass from Donovan Neuls to make it a 3-2 Blazers lead.
The Thunderbirds tied it early in the third period as Dillon Hamaliuk scored on a partial break.
The Blazers hung in there and Jermaine Loewen scored his 12th goal of the season to help the Blazers to a 4-3 win.
Both teams were 1-for-4 on the power play, the Blazers outshot the Thunderbirds 35-34 on the night.
The Blazers will be at home for two games this weekend as they host the Everett Silvertips on Friday, December 1st and the Kootenay Ice on Sunday, December 3rd in the annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Game time is 3:00pm on December 3rd.
