The Kamloops Blazers fell to 0-7-0-0 on the season after dropping a 4-1 decision to the Victoria Royals on Friday night at home.
The Blazers had all the pressure, but turned a puck over as Igor Martynov scored the game’s first goal on a breakaway.
The Royals took a 2-0 lead after the first period as Chaz Reddekopp tipped a puck home with 3:01 to go in the first period.
Tyler Soy made it 3-0 on a power play, but the Blazers replied with a power play goal of their own. Nick Chyzowski scored his first of the season as the Blazers trailed 3-1 through two periods.
In the third period, the Blazers outshot the Royals 14-5 but did not score as they fell 4-1 on home ice.
The Royals finished 1-for-7 on the power play, while the Blazers were 1-for-5. The Blazers outshot the Royals 33-22 on the night.
The Blazers will be back at it on Sunday, October 8th as they host the Seattle Thunderbirds at 5:00pm at the Sandman Centre.
