SEVEN PROSPECTS TO PLAY AT 2019 WHL CUP
Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers have seven players from the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft that have been chosen to play for their provinces at the 2019 WHL Cup in Calgary October 23-27.
Team B.C. will feature four Blazers prospects with first round picks defenseman Mats Lindgren and forward Connor Levis part of the group and a pair of fourth round picks in forwards Fraser Minten and Cameron Johnson.
Lindgren was selected by the Blazers seventh overall in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. He made his WHL debut with the Blazers in Seattle on September 21st. He is playing this season with the Burnaby Winter Club Midget Prep program and has five assists in five games.
Forward Connor Levis is playing this season with the St. George’s Midget Prep team and has two goals in five games. The 6’1” forward was selected by the Blazers 20th overall in the Bantam Draft.
Minten and Johnson were both selected in the fourth round by the Blazers. Minten plays with the West Vancouver Midget Prep team and has 13 points in seven games. Johnson is with the St. George’s Elite 15s and has 15 points in six games.
The Blazers have three prospects that have made Team Saskatchewan in goaltender Dylan Ernst and forwards Vaughn Watterodt and Tye Spencer.
Ernst was selected by the Blazers in the second round of the Bantam Draft. He is playing this season with the Moose Jaw Generals in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.
Spencer is with the Saskatoon Contacts and Watterodt is with the Battelfords Stars. Spencer was a third round pick and Watterodt was chosen in the sixth round.
