Garand and Ernst Invited to Hockey Canada Goaltender Camp

GARAND AND ERNST NAMED TO HOCKEY CANADA POE CAMPS

Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers will have two goaltenders invited to Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence virtual goaltending camp June 9-12.

Dylan Garand is one of five goaltenders selected for the under-20 camp and Dylan Ernst is among 12 goaltenders selected for the under-17 camp.

 

Garand, who turned 18 on June 7th, went 28-10-2-1 in 42 games with the Blazers last season. He posted a franchise best 2.21 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.

The Victoria, BC native was recently named the WHL’s Scholastic Player of the Year. He also has experience in the Program of Excellence suiting up for Canada at the Under-17 and Under-18 level.

Ernst played this past season with the Moose Jaw Warriors AAA program and went 12-4-0-0 with a 2.35 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.

The 16-year-old competed for Canada in January at the 2020 Youth Olympics in Switzerland.
