20-YEAR-OLD JOEL HAMILTON ACQUIRED FROM GIANTS

Kamloops, BC – The Kamloops Blazers have acquired 20-year-old forward Joel Hamilton from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 2017 sixth-round WHL Bantam Draft pick.

Hamilton is in his fourth WHL season and has 130 career points in 224 career games. The Cochrane, AB native has 10 goals and 27 points in 40 games this season with the Giants.

“Don Hay coached Joel last season in Vancouver and enjoyed having him on his team,” commented General Manager, Craig Bonner. “Joel is a hard-working center that can play a 200-foot game and can contribute at both ends of the ice.”

Joel will join the Blazers in time for practice on Monday, January 12th. He will make his debut with the hockey club on home ice against the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday, January 14th.
