PROSPECTS TO U16, KNEEN IN CENTRAL SCOUTING RANKINGS

The Kamloops Blazers have four prospects that will play at the U-16 Challenge Cup in Calgary October 19-23.

First round pick Massimo Rizzo will play for Team B.C. The Burnaby, BC native was selected by the Blazers 15th overall in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. The 15-year-old forward plays for the Burnaby Winter Club Midget Prep. team.

Defenseman Quinn Schmiemann and forwards Connor Zary and Jerzy Orchard will play for Team Saskatchewan. Schmiemann was a third round pick and plays Midget AAA for the Notre Dame Hounds. Zary was selected by the Blazers in the second round and plays for the Saskatoon Contacts. Orchard is a fifth round draft pick and plays for the Swift Current Legionnaires.

In other news, 17-year-old defenseman Nolan Kneen was ranked as a ‘C’ prospect in the NHL’s preliminary Central Scouting players to watch list. To view the rankings, click here.
