BLAZERS FALL 4-2 TO ROYALS IN WHL PRESEASON GAME

After a 5-0 win over the Prince George Cougars on Friday night, the Blazers fell 4-2 to the Victoria Royals on Saturday night to drop to 1-1-0-0 in the WHL preseason.

The Royals opened up a 2-0 first period lead, but goals from Nolan Kneen and Josh Pillar early in the second period tied the game up.

Tyus Gent had the game winning goal 31 seconds after Pillar tied the game in the second period. The Royals added an empty net marker to make it a 4-2 final.

The Blazers outshot the Royals 36-30 and went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Royals finished 0-for-4.

Max Palaga took the loss in goal allowing three goals on 18 shots, while Dylan Garand stopped all 11 shots he faced in the second half of the game.

The Blazers will be home on Friday, September 7th to the Kelowna Rockets. Game time is 7:00pm at the Sandman Centre.
