The Kamloops Blazers outshot the Everett Silvertips 39-26 but fell 3-1 at home on Friday night.
The Silvertips scored the game’s first goal on the power play. Connor Dewar’s shot squeezed past goaltender Dylan Ferguson to make it 1-0 after the first period.
The ‘Tips built up their lead in the second period with a power play goal and another tally off the rush to make it 3-0. The Blazers were pushing and scored late in the period as Ondrej Vala made it 3-1 through two periods.
In the third period, the Blazers push was on but goaltender Dustin Wolf stopped 38 of 39 shots as the Blazers fell 3-1.
The Silvertips were 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Blazers were 0-for-3.
The Blazers are home on Saturday night to face the Tri-City Americans at 7:00pm at the Sandman Centre.
