BLAZERS LOSE 7-3 TO WINTERHAWKS

The Blazers watched an early first period lead fade away in a 7-3 loss to the Portland Winterhawks on Wednesday night at home.

Martin Lang scored his first career WHL goal, while Quinn Schmiemann added his first two WHL points with two assists. Luke Zazula and Brodi Stuart also added goals for the Blazers as they went 3-for-6 on the power play.

The Winterhawks had seven different goal scorers on the night. Cody Glass led the way offensively with a goal and two assists on the night.

Dylan Ferguson took the loss in goal with 22 saves for the Blazers, while 16-year-old Dylan Garand made his season debut with 14 saves in relief. Shane Farkas earned the win as he stopped 29 shots.

The Blazers are home for two games this weekend as they host the Winterhawks once again on Friday night and are home to the Victoria Royals on Saturday at the Sandman Centre.
